Baptism is the sacrament that marks a person as a Christian. Traditionally, a person is baptized in the Catholic faith as an infant so that they will be brought up in the Christian community. Their choice to live as a Christian comes in their daily decisions and actions in life.
Parents who live in Hancock County and would like to have their child baptized in the faith should complete this Baptismal Form. After filling out the form, contact Fr. Aaron Jenkins to schedule a meeting. Baptisms are held on the first and third weekends of the month following the 6:00 p.m. Mass at St. Thomas and the 11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Michael.
Adults who have never been baptized and are seeking baptism in the Catholic Church should schedule an appointment with Fr. Aaron Jenkins via email or by calling the Parish Office.
The purpose of godparents is to assist the parents in helping the child attain heaven. Godparents should give good example of how to live the faith by word and deed.
At least one godparent must be a confirmed Catholic who is active in their faith. The second godparent may be a Christian Witness and is not required to be Catholic.
